Central Maryland Martial Arts

Founder and Chief Instructor: Mr. David P Bucheimer, 5th Dan, Tang Soo Do took his first Karate class in 1967.  David is a long time student of Frederick area Karate pioneer William Wickham, and has over 40 years active training in Tang Soo Do, Jujutsu and Filipino Martial Arts.  In his 17 years at Central Maryland Martial Arts, David has promoted over 40 Black Belts.  He believes in the open sharing of ideas between martial artists of all disciplines, and that ultimately it is the spirit of the individual, and not the style, that matters most.  David is a local building contractor and life-long Frederick County resident, he is married to Lisa and resides in Braddock Heights with two of their three children. 

Senior Instructor: Mr. Robbie Snyder, 6th Dan, Tang Soo Do began his Martial Arts training at age 6 under William Wickham and continues to this day, some 40 years later.  Robbie holds black belts in Jujutsu, Kendo, Iaido and Aikido, and operated a successful Karate school in Ocean City, Md. before returning to the Frederick  area.  Has taught thousands of students over the years including F.B.I., local and state police and secret service.

Senior Instructor: Ms. Shelley Aloi, 3rd Dan, Tang  Soo Do began TSD studies under the tutelage of William Wickham in 1972 attaining Senior Instructor certification in 1979.  Shelley is an experienced teacher in the classroom as well as in the Dojang, former number 1 women’s fighter and nationally ranked competitor in men’s and women’s forms--awarded Competitor of the Year recognition for the seven state region at the height of her tournament career.  She enjoys teaching and seeing others develop their talents not only in martial arts but in every aspect of their lives. 

Instructor: Mr. Mark Bucheimer, 2nd Dan, Tang Soo Do.  Began his training at the age of 5 under William Wickham and later continued his instruction at CMMA,  Mark has actively trained in Tang Soo Do and Jujutsu for  17 years and brings a high energy, high flying style to his classes at CMMA,  He is a successful competitor at regional tournaments and currently in training for his 3rd Dan and full instructors certification.

Instructor: Mr. Bob Coss, 2nd Dan, Tang Soo Do. Started training under William Wickham in 1977.  In addition, studied at Tompkins Karate Association and Jhun Rhee.  Currently training for 3rd Dan.

Mr. Nathan Lowman, 2^nd Dan Tang Soo Do…..Student at CMMA since 2003….Second Degree Black Belt ……..college student……….dedicated martial arts student and committed teacher…..great energy and technical ability .

Ms. Rena Klapp, 2^nd Dan Tang Soo Do…..Student at CMMA since 2003….Our newest Second Degree Black Belt ……..talented artist……….fun and innovative teacher for our youngest students…..exceptional balance and great kicking ability .
